• Born to a family of three in the rural section of Ukraine; father was a village doctor and mother was a seamstress. His brother had left home to join the fighting.
  
• Attended a professional technical school in Russia for a short while. Returned home upon worries that his father would not be able to support the family as much as he could with his age.
  
• Until the conflict further escalated, it's unknown what he had been doing. Those country folk sure are a silent, hidden bunch.
