Quote :
"Darkness gathers, and so I present myself before the Gods. For the good of the realm, we; Who swear oath to no Lord, who forfeit claim to crown and glory, who will bear no children. The blades, who in the dark, will bring forth the dawn. From this moment, until our last; Such evils will be delivered unto the gates of Hell and I shall be their deliverer. I, Talus of House Caprarius serve as all judge, jury and executioner; for Evil we hold no trial, no sermon, no rite. For this long night, let my blade stave evil from the hearts of men and the realms of Lords." - An initiate taking her vows.
The Londarian Order of White, or more-so known as simply 'The Order' is a prominent part of Londarian society. Large hubs will often contain their own chapter. The Order finds itself being a sort of catalyst between the army, the church, and the law itself. Though they are not above the law, they do not overtly police it as would a city guard. Members of The Order are considered to be the protectors of the realm of men. They are considered to be the 'Holy Warriors' of the state of Londar, commonly referred to as Paladins of The Order.
The Order swears to partake in no wars and hold no political power over any established state in Lankhmer. To swear homage to no King, and to remain voiceless against the Monarchy of any one nation. The only case which may release this vow, should be if the Grand Maesters of all chapters are called to an Inquisition, in an attempt to overthrow the government of Londar as a safeguard, should corruption or evil be found polluting those trusted in power.
To be accepted into the fold is no small feet. Though their numbers pale compared to certain armies, The Order is known to house some of the best fighters of the current age. Becoming a Paladin is a road that few of many finish walking. Those who achieve the title are knighted, and recognized as Knight-Paladins of The Order of Londar.
A Knight-Paladin of Londar:
The local chapter of The Order often finds itself involving it's members in small-scale dealings to serve as either training exercises for new pupils, or in an attempt to find worthy pupils to bring into their fold. Many commoners look up to members of The Order and see them as heroes. Some are just that; Heroes.
